The London Clay, formerly thought homogeneous, is now known to be predictably variable by Division, while the Harwich Formation is extremely variable both vertically and laterally.
This highly regarded in‑person course provides clear guidance on distinguishing these Divisions using the stratigraphic frameworks of King (1981 and 2016), with additional insight into equivalent London Clay units across the wider London Basin.
What Delegates gain:
- Learning to identify and predict the stratigraphy
- Improved understanding of geotechnical behaviour and parameters
- Hands on examination of geological samples
- Insight from real‑world case histories
- Overview of the latest testing techniques and findings
Who should attend?
- Geotechnical engineers
- Engineering geologists
- Construction professionals working in SE England
For those interested in related training, Jackie Skipper’s one-day Lambeth Group Course will also take place at the same venue on 18 June: https://gcg.co.uk/news/the-lambeth-group-an-essential-course-for-engineering-practice/
