P3 Parks Distribution Centre developments

Location: Europe

Client: P3 Parks

Dates: 2017-current

GCG have been supported P3 Logistic Parks since 2017, in relation to their expansion of capacity throughout Europe.

GCG provide geotechnical Technical Due Diligence input prior to site acquisition, to identify potential ground-related hazards. As part of the TDD process, recommendations are provided in relation to the extent of ground investigations that are considered advisable to adequately de-risk the site acquisition.

Where sites are procured, GCG provides a ‘technical auditor’ role, ensuring that the local development teams are working to P3 parks’ high standards for delivery. GCG advises on the extent of any further ground investigation necessary to adequately progress design, on any proposals for ground Improvement, and on the suitability of design proposals for structural foundations and the ground bearing slab. It remains a common problem that general contractors often pay more attention to the foundation of the building frame than the slab, yet for these types of distribution facilities, the long-term performance of the slab, including flatness and levelness, is the critical aspect.

GCG provide a review and commentary on the design proposals, and advice as needed during the construction phase, including providing expertise in determining causation and remediation where construction phase difficulties have arisen.
