GCG has carried out independent design reviews for a number of dry stacking projects in Brazil. In these structures, the mining tailings are transported to the site on trucks, after a dewatering process, and compacted using heavy rollers. The sheer scale of these structures warrants a comprehensive assessment of all its potential risks, and a detailed analysis of its design. GCG helped the client to advance the use of this technology into unprecedented scales, in conditions of high-precipitation and high deposition volume, by proposing methods to model, test, and validate the critical elements of the project.
