GCG was engaged to provide expert advice on the potential impact of the proposed redevelopment of the site (location details remain confidential) on the local hydrogeology, which had a history of waterlogging issues that had caused disputes between neighbours.

We reviewed the local geology and the hydrogeological conditions of the area and assessed the impact of the proposed redevelopment, which included the construction of a basement, on the complex groundwater flow pattern across the area.

Our study involved a desk study and forensic investigations of historic issues and, as a result, we proposed and defined a scope of work for mitigation measures to enable the redevelopment to be completed without adversely affecting the local hydrogeology and the surrounding properties.
