Next Tuesday, 10th June, our Senior Geotechnical Engineer Serena Che will be presenting a theme lecture at ISFOG 2025, based on her paper entitled “Optimising Back Analyses of Offshore Pile Driving in Weak Rocks with a Data-Driven Approach”, with co-authors Felix Schroeder of GCG, Stavroula Kontoe of University of Patras, Richard Jardine of Imperial College London, and Pedro Barbosa of Iberdrola. Her lecture will explore a systematic, consistent framework of back analysing historical driving databases in weak rocks, focusing on chalk, to improve predictions of pile driving behaviour. The study highlights key insights, practical considerations, and pitfalls in applying optimisation and data-driven techniques with exemplar data from the Wikinger Offshore Wind Farm.
Additionally, Serena will be chairing the parallel session on Cables during the conference on Thursday 12th June. She looks forward to facilitating engaging discussions on the latest innovations in offshore cable design and installation.
