We are delighted to welcome Dr Shyamini Kularathna to Geotechnical Consulting Group, who joins us as a Geotechnical Engineer.
Shyamini specialises in numerical modelling and computational geomechanics, with expertise in developing bespoke mathematical models and implementing advanced constitutive models for complex geotechnical problems. She has significant experience in finite element analysis of offshore foundations, particularly in capturing cyclic soil responses using advanced constitutive models.
Prior to joining the industry, Shyamini worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, where she led a research project on sand production modelling for the oil and gas industry.
Shyamini completed her PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where she developed a novel hydro-mechanically coupled Material Point Method (MPM) algorithm for modelling large deformations in saturated soil. She also played a key role in developing an open-source MPM code in collaboration with The University of Texas at Austin.
Please join us in welcoming Shyamini to GCG – we look forward to her contributions to our team!
