CIRIA announced publication of C796

CIRIA have announced the publication of a guide to “Assessing the impacts of construction-induced ground movement on framed buildings (C796)”, the production of which was co-funded by GCG.

The new guide explores prediction, assessment, and control of damage to existing building stock resulting from construction-related ground movement. It aims to provide a clear framework for assessing impacts to modern steel and reinforced concrete frame structures.

GCG view this as an important step forward. Professor Kelvin Higgins, one of GCG’s Senior Partners and current chairman of the British Geotechnical Association, chaired the Steering Committee overseeing the preparation of the report.
