GCG’s Lidija Zdravković to Deliver the 62nd Rankine Lecture

GCG is pleased to share that our Associate, Professor Lidija Zdravković, is presenting the 62nd Rankine Lecture at Imperial College London, on Wednesday 13th March 2024. The Rankine lecture is widely viewed as the most prestigious of the invited lectures in geotechnics and marks a significant highlight in the geotechnical community’s calendar.

A Testament to Excellence

The selection of Professor Zdravković for this esteemed lecture acknowledges her contributions to the advancement of geotechnical engineering through research and practical application. In addition to advancing our understanding of soil mechanics, as the Professor of Computational Geomechanics at Imperial College London, Lidija has also taught and inspired the next generation of engineers to enter the geotechnical world and explore innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Shaping the Future with Sustainability in Mind

The theme of Professor Zdravković’s lecture, “Geotechnical Engineering for a Sustainable Society” reflects a crucial narrative in today’s engineering discourse — sustainability. As we stand at the intersection of development and environmental stewardship, her insights into incorporating robust soil mechanics and computational analysis principles into sustainable engineering practices are more vital than ever. This lecture promises to offer not just a glimpse into the future of geotechnical engineering but also a roadmap for placing sustainability at the heart of our work.

Join Us for a Milestone Event

We invite our colleagues, clients, and the wider engineering community to join us in celebrating this occasion. The 62nd Rankine Lecture not only signifies a moment of pride for GCG but also represents an opportunity for collective growth and learning in our pursuit of a sustainable future.
