GCG Associate Director to deliver technical seminars in Hong Kong

On March 6th & 7th, GCG’s Associate Director, Dr Michael Wan, will take the stage in Hong Kong, to deliver two technical seminars for The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and The University for Hong Kong (HKU).

Michael is excited to share his expertise in geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring with Hong Kong’s esteemed engineering community. In his first seminar, being held at HKU, by presenting the Crossrail field research findings, he aims to emphasise the importance of field monitoring research to advancing the understanding of the ground and structural responses to geotechnical processes. For his second seminar, being held at HKIE, with a special focus on fully-grouted piezometers for pore water pressure monitoring, Michael aims to offer invaluable insights applicable to geotechnical instrumentation practices in construction projects across Hong Kong.

Speaking about his forthcoming presentations, Michael said: “I am sincerely grateful for the chance to share what I’ve learned from my experiences in geotechnical I&M research and applications in the UK. I eagerly anticipate engaging in stimulating discussions with fellow engineers and researchers in Hong Kong, a city close to my heart, where I began my engineering journey”.
