Mining Support

GCG has provided technical advice and support to mine owners, shippers of mining products, contractors and financiers. We have provided support services in areas ranging from pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, through to financing, construction, operation, closure and rehabilitation including risk management. Example of services we have provided include:

• due diligence studies on geotechnical and construction aspects of mines;
• geotechnical aspects of mining operations;
• ground investigation and site characterisation;
• analyses and design of pit side slopes;
• mine waste disposal (e.g. review and analyses of tailings dams, dry stacking embankments, etc.);
• coal stockpile stability;
• cargo stability in port stockpiles and in ocean-going vessels;
• insurance losses, claims and litigations related to mine operations.
